Last year saw over double the number of entrants, almost 100 total, records shattered, and hearts broken. The race will follow the legendary course this year, starting on Kelowna’s Historic Kettle Valley Railbed, before beginning the rapid descent down the vapor trail in Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park. The trail meets with a short climb, giving XC riders an opportunity, before continuing its decent into a sprint finish at the Myra-Bellevue Parking Lot. Kelowna’s own Seth Cowie set the new course record last year, with 19:07. Most riders choose to adopt the “white ford bronco” approach to the event, and adopt a more relaxed pace, opting to save some energy to enjoy the prizes and BBQ that went down later that day. The race features categories for men and women as well as Jr. Boys and Jr. Girls. It is open to all ages, riders are expected to have a resonable understanding of mountain bike skills, but there are no mandatory drops, jumps, gaps etc. Come challenge your friends, put it all on the line, or enjoy the trail, and the BBQ and fun afterwards.
Register here today or for more info or to register contact Mike at Kelowna Cycle (250)762-2453 or shop@kelownacycle.ca. Come participate in what is becoming a Kelowna Classic, and Canada’s largest Super D event!
